We are actively working in the area of process development for electron and laser beam additive manufacturing and welding. Our Large Electron Beam Additive Manufacturing (LEAM) platform is a unique facility that we have been collaborating with industrial colleagues CANMORA TECH to develop.

We are also active in developing modelling tools for heat and fluid flow in electron beam and laser welding and additive manufacturing. Specifically our work has been aimed at developing fast-to-run models that approximate thermal transport to allow us to predict on small lengthscales (melt pool dimensions) but over large length scales (multiple layers and centimetres in dimensions)
